Lakers Apparently Considering Ben Simmons Deal

A new report indicates that Los Angeles and another glamor market are intrigued by the embattled Sixers point guard.

As Shams Charania of The Athletic reports, the Philadelphia 76ers are exploring options for possible deals with multiple teams to get off the contract of embattled All-Defensive Team point guard Ben Simmons. Charania mentions two new big market names, the Los Angeles Lakers and New York Knicks, as being among the clubs intrigued by the concept of adding Simmons.

Charania notes that the Sixers front office, led by second-year team president Darryl Morey, is ramping up their attempts to figure out a way to trade the three-time All-Star point guard. The 6'11" 25-year-old's offensive limitations were on full display in the top-seeded Sixers' notorious Game 7 defeat to the fifth-seeded Atlanta Hawks during the second round of the 2021 Eastern Conference playoffs.

LeBron James goes nuclear: Five takeaways from Lakers’ win over Magic

Here are five observations from the Lakers’ 106-94 victory over the Orlando
Magic on Sunday at Staples Center:

1. They got that guy

The Lakers’ flaws — mindless turnovers, so-so defense, even worse offense — defined the first half Sunday and seemed to be pushing the Lakers down a familiar path. Maybe they’d survive the lackluster performance, but win or lose, things would seem tougher than necessary.

Then LeBron James happened.

James went nuclear in the third quarter and pushed the Lakers out way in front, giving them more than enough cushion to survive a clunker in the fourth.

Taylor Swift tells fans joint birthday party with Alana Haim followed COVID rules

Taylor Swift is preemptively telling fans they need to calm down over her recent birthday bash.

On Monday the pop star posted two pics on social media of her joint birthday with Alana Haim, making sure to note that the fête followed COVID precautions.

“Don’t say it, don’t say it OKAY I’m saying it: I’M FEELIN 32. And Alana is feeling 30. Don’t worry we tested everyone! Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, I love you all so much 🥰🎂,” the “Shake It Off” singer wrote alongside the snaps.

Swift and Alana — the youngest member of pop group Haim, comprised of herself and sisters Danielle and Este — have been close friends for years. In the summer of 2015, Haim opened for Swift at select dates on The 1989 World Tour, and the foursome have even vacationed together in Hawaii.

Taylor Swift's Biggest Music Easter Eggs Over the Years

Speak Now (Taylor's Version) is definitely coming next...right?

Being a Taylor Swift fan is hard work, and she doesn't make it easy. Ever since the beginning of her music career, the singer has constantly left Easter eggs within her work to leave fans guessing. Whether it be hidden messages in lyric booklets or teasing albums months in advance, Swift has been the queen of teasing fans since day one.

"It's sort of a tradition that we started a very long time ago," Swift said to Jimmy Fallon about the origins of her Easter eggs. "I think the first time that I started dropping sort of cryptic clues in my music was when I was 14 or 15, putting together my first album."

About her debut album, the singer continued, "I wanted to do something that incentivized fans to read the lyrics because my lyrics are what I'm most proud of out of everything that I do... When I was a kid, I used to read through CD booklets and just read the teeny, tiny print and obsess over it."

Elon musk

2021 PERSON OF THE YEAR | ELON MUSK

The richest man in the world does not own a house and has recently been selling off his fortune. He tosses satellites into orbit and harnesses the sun; he drives a car he created that uses no gas and barely needs a driver. With a flick of his finger, the stock market soars or swoons. An army of devotees hangs on his every utterance. He dreams of Mars as he bestrides Earth, square-jawed and indomitable. Lately, Elon Musk also likes to live-tweet his poops.

“Just dropping some friends off at the pool,” the 50-year-old zillionaire informed his 66 million Twitter followers on the evening of Nov. 29, having previously advised that at least half his tweets were “made on a porcelain throne.” After an interval—21 minutes, if you must know—an update: “Splish splash.”
